What an awesome year at FUMC! God moved in amazing ways through us! Here is just a taste of what happened…
It started with a prayer from our collective hearts. Do you remember the prayer? Here it is…
First UMC Covenant Renewal Prayer
Living God, you are the one who gives us life and hope. We acknowledge that you have dreams for us. O, Lord we ask that you would use us, your servants, to share the love of Jesus in ways that we have never done before. Stretch out your hand as you have done in the past and perform miraculous signs and wonders in the name of your holy servant Jesus. Fill us with the Holy Spirit to speak your word boldly. Stir our hearts with a passion to reach a young generation. As a people who are second to your Son, Jesus Christ, we put aside and lay down that which hinders this church from reaching all people. Hear this cry from our heart, O Lord, and unify us behind it. Make us one in heart and one in mind. We freely give all ourselves with a willing heart to this eternal cause. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

So many people responded to God in a variety of ways. We celebrated the birth of the Church with an outdoor worship service in May. Nearly 25 people were baptized or remembered their baptism that day.

FUMC supported Seed Effect, a Christian microfinance organization operating in South Sudan. A special offering was taken on Palm Sunday. Pastor Bryant went to South Sudan in August to see how our supported impacted the people in South Sudan first hand. Here are some pictures.
In addition the people of First United Methodist Church received 54,000 dollars more from members and friends in 2012 to support the general ministries of the church compared to our historical yearly giving. This was a major step of faith! Also, our 2nd mile giving helped support the United Methodist Children’s Home in Worthington, Youth Missions, and our International Mission called Seed Effect. Praise Him for all He has done through us in 2012!
